What is Counselling?
Counselling is a talking therapy that offers you the space to explore any problems you may be experiencing which have become unmanageable and have started to interfere in the balance of your life.
The counselling relationship provides a safe environment where you can articulate and explore these feelings and gain a deeper insight and understanding of yourself. Often, we repeat patterns of behaviour that we have learnt from our own individual history, which can interfere in the way we relate to others. Counselling gives you the opportunity to recognise these patterns and to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and how you relate to others.
The initial consultation will be arranged where we can talk in detail about the kind of help you are looking for and to decide if I am a suitable therapist to work with you. The sessions last fifty minutes and take place weekly at the same time, which is mutually agreed.
